The Concert and the Loop: The Final Scene

The final scene: hybrid spatial audio, a twelve-slot radial sequencer, and the player's loop turning into a clock at 9:00.

The Concert and the Loop: The Final Scene

The fourth and final scene gathers the entire question of the experience into a single interaction. The player reaches an outdoor concert with a live band, a fourteen-person responsive crowd, and a night atmosphere — the most spectacular, most apparently free place in the daydream.

Hybrid spatial audio

The concert's sound is built from DSP-clock-locked hybrid stems: some layers are 2D stereo, others are 3D spatial sources emitted from objects on the stage (ConcertAudioDirector). Drum kits, instruments, and stage speakers are generated procedurally.

The twelve-step loop

The final interaction is a twelve-slot radial sequencer. As the player places sound orbs into the ring, the concert recedes and the crowd turns from the stage toward the player's loop. Gradually, the precomposed spectacle is replaced by the player's own composition.

The clock reveal

When the loop is complete, the sequencer slows. Colors drain, numbers appear, the playhead becomes a red second hand, and the hands freeze at 9:00. Ticking replaces music, darkness closes in, and the experience returns to the factory for a slightly faster, gently detuned second shift.

Conceptually this is the heart of the project: the player gains the most direct creative agency here, yet that creation is organized into twelve repeated positions. The completed composition becomes the mechanism of return. The loop was the clock all along.
